Fish dive Ichiro doesn't. LOL

I'm with Senior, however. Go M's!!!

I wrote a topic this morning going over how I think the batting order should go by OBP. I was using stats at Baseball Reference .com and everything. Problem was.. BR.com link kicked my post to their site. My 20 min. of work was gone when I went back. LOL

Anyways, Montero is killing as a catcher and pedestrian as a DH. Based on OBP I would like to see these guys today:

Jaso DH
Saunders LF
Ichiro RF
Liddi 1B
Montero C
Kawasaki SS
Wells LF
Ackley 2B
Seager 3B

One could only hope.

No Crap! I mean Carp!

Wednesday's Mariner lineup:
Figgins 7
Ackley 4
Ichiro 9
Montero 2
Seager 5
Liddi 3
Smoak DH
Saunders 8
Ryan 6

Beavan 1

At least we get to see Seager, Liddi and Smoak to go with Ackley, Montero and Saunders. The rest I've lost interest in.

Good to see that Smoak is finally out of the cleanup spot.

It would be nice if he belonged there, so I won't say it's good. I'm glad to see someone else get the shot, yes. I wonder if Carp not getting the start says something about his health status. He didn't play a few days in a row in Tacoma.

Kawasaki was out there getting some work in behind the plate in early workouts. He apparently is the "Emergency" catcher now with Olivo on the DL. I wonder who gets to catch first - Jaso or Kawasaki?

It's simple. Fish dive. Ichiro doesn't.

As a fisheries biologist, maybe 6-pak can advise Carp how to get his swing back on track. Maybe the ph isn't balanced in the clubhouse Gatorade? Or do we need a fisheries chemist for that?

I deal with salmon so I can't help Carp. With the heavy flows on the Columbia this spring the juveniles are heading downstream in record numbers but the adults are running late. Perhaps the Ms will improve when conditions get better.

A 40 pitch first inning by Shields!

At least this time Beavan has some run support!

AND Shields strikes out the side. 1-2-3

Can we please stop playing Figgins and Ryan??

Ackley has been cold lately too.
Boooooo! Although the Cat had a few bad years, I am sad to see him go to the hated A's of Oakland.

Searching for a new adopt-a-player will be tough. Seems like all the other kids I like have found great adopt-a parents.

To the M's credit, I will say that they have been cranking a lot more homers this season.

Ackley is next. He either needs to hit #1 or move to the bottom. Perhaps he's just pressing.

It's good to see Seager get his groove back. After he hit is first HR he was swinging for the fences. He's quited his swing back down and it's looking good.

I'm torn between 1. wanting to see Seager or Kawasaki at SS and anyone but Figgins in LF, and 2. Seeing how low Ryan and Figgins' batting averages can get. It's comical how few hits Ryan has had.

And re: Chaos: good point. It's hard to believe that back in the 90s the Ms had the best home run hitting team in the history of the game. In 2010 and 2011, I remember being awestruck when a Mariner would crank one out :thumbup1:

I do think this team is going to be okay this year. The thing is that Saunders is a great example of what we may expect out of other youngsters development-wise. Unfortunately it's not going to be a quick "get your feet wet and become a solid MLB starter in one year" situation for most of these guys.

Add 3 more K's to Mariner hitters, that's 10 / 12 outs

Ryan now with 8 strikeouts in his last 10 at-bats. Impressive.

How much do you want to bet that after the game a certain manager will say that he's "hitting the ball hard lately," despite the poor average. (Just ignore the lack of actual contact between bat and ball :P)

Can Shields get 20 Ks in a losing effort? Well, maybe not with defense like that.
