1st & 3rd with no outs and we don't score, not to be a negative nelly here, but I sure hope our offense picks up soon, I can't handle much of this

Justin Smoak, and Jesus Montero need to be sent down. I've never been a Justin Smoak fan. I have a feeling this is going to be the type of player who has big hype, but never lives up to it. I'd trade Smoak and put Carp at 1st and keep Wells in LF. I'm done with Justin. Montero needs to be sent down. I don't know who Iwakuma has pissed off, but whatever.

B.Ryan, I love the guy but my god. HIT!!!!

Really wish we could have traded Pineda straight up for Montero.
But Z insisted on another starter.
I'd rather still have Campos.
That's spelled: Zduriencik

Had a meeting to go to tonight and didn't get home until the damage had been done. Meeting tomorrow from 12-6 and Sunday from 8 a.m. - 1 p.m. With luck I'll be able to get Tri-Cities radio for the first few innings and the rest on KIRO. Counting on you guys to get us a win tomorrow while I'm stuck at a boring, I mean, board, meeting.

Montero and Smoak are doing just fine. It's three weeks into the season, just give them some time. Smoak is hitting 26% line drives and has a .256 babip. He's actually dropped his swinging strikes from last year. He just isn't taking the walks like he did last year.

The real problem with Smoak is that he's been swinging and missing at too many pitches out of the zone, early in counts. He's gotten himself in too many bad counts, way too soon. Even then he's driving the ball on a consistent basis, it just hasn't worked out... yet.
Adopt-a-players:

Juan Diaz (YET ANOTHER switch hitting middle infielder) (traded)

Seon Gi Kim (Still waiting for him to come around... )

Brandon Haveman (Loveable depth) (released)

Tyler Blandford (What are the possibilities of a refund at this point?)

So... I got this site where I write at... SodoMojo. If you care to visit.

Smoak should be moved out of the clean up spot.

I agree with that! Some people just press too much when batting cleanup. At least try it.

and here's the line up.

Chone Figgins LF
Dustin Ackley 2B
Ichiro Suzuki RF
Justin Smoak 1B
Kyle Seager 3B
Jesus Montero DH
Michael Saunders CF
Miguel Olivo C
Munenori Kawasaki SS

Eventually one of these days Montero will be able to bat clean up while smoak is in the line up. Jaso DH with Montero at C woulda been nice also *shrugs*

Smoak is very streaky. I expect that he'll go off on a hot streak soon enough. In the meantime, I would prefer to see him batting 5th or 6th.

Regarding the catching situation, I have no real problem with the amount of catching Montero is doing. He's still getting into most games as the DH (learning the MLB pitching, yea!) and acclimating to catching at the big league level. If he catches 40-50 games this season, that will be just about what I expected from the get-go. What I don't understand is why Jaso sits and rots. Let him catch some 40 games this year as well. It's not like Olivo is that great behind the plate (move your body and block the damn ball, Miguel! Enough of this ole crap.) And whatever his strengths behind the plate are, it isn't enough to compensate for his miserable bat.
Adopt-a-Players:
Eric Thames - What? Are we waiting for him to become LESS patient at the plate?
2013 AAA: .298/.390/.496/.887 5 HR 20 RBI

Forrest Snow - Things look rather Stark for the bastard of the north. Winter is coming.
2013 AA: 1-4, 3.86 ERA, 23 K, 5 BB, 1.095 WHIP
2012 AAA/AA: 5-9, 6.35 ERA, 99K, 67 BB, 1.674 WHIP

Gone But Not Forgotten (former adopt-a-players):
Matt Mangini - Signed a minor league contract with the Reds in the off season, but appears to have been handed his walking papers.
Mike Morse - HEY! Look who's back!!!!!
Jamal Strong - Let go after 2005. Played in the Yankees, Cubs and Braves systems. Now a regional scout for the Cards.
