2012 MC Keeper League


Introduction


This is a competitive league, and active participation is required.
League format is head-to-head with standard 5x5 scoring and two extra DL roster spots.
This is a keeper league; each owner gets to select four to six players to carry over from the previous season.


Rules & Guidelines


Membership is pre-reserved for returning players. Any spots that aren't claimed by the deadline will then be distributed on a first-come first-serve basis to newcomers. Unclaimed rosters will be distributed to newcomers via a re-distribution draft held in this forum. The commissioner has the final say in all memberships.


Keepers must be selected before the live draft. Your list of 4-6 keepers must be finalized and sent privately to the commissioner (or his representative) before the deadline in order to be confirmed. If a keeper list is not turned in, the commissioner will select the top 6 players by Yahoo O-Rank from that team's available roster to be their 6 keepers.


Draft order will be determined by the final standings of the previous year, with the highest seed drafting at the lowest draft position and the order reversing with each subsequent round. Teams that retain only 5 keepers will be awarded a pick at their usual spot in Round 6 (which is a reversed order round); teams that retain only 4 keepers will also be awarded a pick at their usual spot in Round 5 (which is a normal order round). Selection of non-kept players will begin in Rounds 5 and 6 (for teams with picks in those rounds), and for all teams in Round 7. The official draft order will be posted in this thread after all keeper selections have been finalized, no less than three days prior to the date of the live draft.


Waiver priority is determined by carrying over each manager's priority from the end of the previous season. New managers will inherit the waiver priority of the team whose draft position they receive. During the regular season, new players will be added to the waiver wire only when they are called up to the Majors. Finally, waiver priority may be traded.


Trades may be made during both the pre-season and regular season (see league schedule for deadlines). All trades are automatic upon agreement and may only be overturned within 72 hours by the commissioner (TheZenador). Pre-season trades that have been agreed upon by both sides must be posted in this thread in order to be confirmed. Waiver trades may be agreed upon any time during the regular season, but must be stated in this thread by one or both involved parties in order to be confirmed. When a waiver trade has been confirmed it will be instated via manual roster edits made by the commissioner. Remember the new rule this year is no trading draft picks. Any trades made after their respective deadlines will be void, unless they are waiver deals that were agreed upon earlier in the season.


League activity is required. Regular roster maintenence at least once a week is requested. Any player who goes more than two weeks with no league activity will be contacted about the issue and, if necessary, locked out of the league and replaced the next season. If, for any reason, during the course of the season you cannot maintain your roster for an extended period of time, you may contact me so that I can adjust your roster for you during that time. Please note: League activity is defined simply as logging on to the league site and/or making roster adjustments (rotating out your inactive players).


Rule changes may be proposed to the league by any player in this thread only. League participants will then vote on the proposed rule change. If the proposal receives a two-thirds majority vote in favor, it will go into effect. Non-votes count as negative votes. The commissioner retains the right to veto any proposal and may only be overruled by a three-quarter (75%) vote by the remaining members of the league.

So last year KC had moderation duties to pin the threads and other miscellaneous stuff. Does anyone in this league have that capability?

Also go ahead and use this thread to post any trades. Remember trading draft picks is no longer allowed. Instead managers can choose to keep anywhere from 4 to 6 players.

Finally we have 14 teams signed up in the league, 3 teams have confirmed that they will not be participating and still need to hear from the others. Which means if you know anyone who would like to join the league, please let me know.

Giancarlo Cruz-Michael Stanton is his full name. He wants to go by Giancarlo starting this season. When I first heard that I figured Giancarlo was his middle name, not his first. Interesting.
