Answer: Starting pitcher Babe Ruth walked leadoff batter Ray Morgan, got into words with homeplate ump Buck Owens, punch Owens and was ejected from the game. Ernie Shore came in to relieve. Morgan was thrown out trying to steal second base and Shore retired all 26 batters he faced for a perfect game in relief.
Ruth went 94-46 for his pitching career including 24-13 in 1917. In 148 starts in his career, Ruth had 107 complete games and 17 shutouts.
