The tallest man ever to play in the NBA (well, along with Gheorge Muresan)
died in a Virginia hospital today. He was one of my favorite basketball players growing up, the only player ever to finish his career with more blocks than points. And in retirement he was a charitable and hard working activist for the cause of fighting famine and war in his homeland of Sudan. A combination of kidney ailments and ravaging complications from the medication to treat them were just too much.
